As part of our ongoing plans to improve the quality of ships on our register, ensure such ships are complying with International Conventions & National regulations, reduce adverse PSC reports, increase our registered tonnage and promote the Federation of St. Kitts & Nevis, we invite applications from suitable shipping professionals with the appropriate qualifications and experience, either individually or as companies, to carry-out Flag State Inspections on the ships, pleasure vessels, fishing vessels and other craft on our Ship Register.
As a minimum, applicants must possess either:
- a Master (STCW Reg. II/2-unlimited) or a Chief Engineer (STCW Reg/ III/2 – over 3000KW) Certificate of Competency
- Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or closely-rated disclipine, plus membership of an appropriate professional body, or possess Chartered Engineer status.
A minimum of three (3) years post qualification experience in marine surveying or similar employment is also required.
Preference will be given to those applicants who have qualification and experience as a Lead Auditor for conducting either/all ISM, ISPS and MLC 2006 audits.
